Please remind your student to complete and turn in their assignments.

Also, they can always improve skills by using IXL program.

Math: 

Monday:  Daily Review: Minute math lesson 10  (we will use dry erase pockets, then place answers on computer or notebook paper)

                   Chap 2:  Text pg 54- Review what we have learned about adding, subtracting and multiplying fractions.  Hand out notes page to help with reminders.  

                Discuss that simplify and simplest form mean to REDUCE

                Practice with a few problems we went over last week.  Hand out answer strips and complete the even numbers 26-20 on page 54.  Multiplying mixed numbers.  

               -change to improper fraction

               -cross simplify if possible

               -multiply straight across

               -if it is an improper fraction change back to mixed number (simplify)

  Bonus opportunity:  Flocabulary – lesson on “Fractions” due Wednesday if want bonus points.                                                        

Tuesday:     Daily review: Minute math lesson 11

                 Multiplication table page – complete

                 Chap 2:  pg  54 – 55 , complete # 42, 44, 48, 50, 52, 60, 62, and 64.  Multiplying fractions.

                  Worksheets to review more fractions.

                “Very Proper” wkst 19/20, 21/22

        

Wednesday:     Daily review:  multiplication facts drill  0 and 1 mix                       

                       Use practice on pg 56, discuss wording of word problems

                       Text pg. 57 seeing patterns

                      Text pg. 58 Reciprocals   (key to dividing fractions)

                      pg 59                 

                       

Thursday: Daily review: Minute math lesson 7                        

               Textbook pgs 57 – look at chart and notice similarities

               Pg 58 Vocabulary:  Reciprocal and Invert

               pg 60 – use practices 

               assign pg 61 #7-28

     

Friday:  Daily review: Math minute 8 

            Text pg 62: 32-51

            Possible Flocabulary lesson:  Mixed numbers/ Improper fractions  and Dividiing fractions.

             

           

            IXL – complete the recommended skills plans.  

    

Reading For Pleasure

Monday:  Read aloud to class – Counting by 7s

              Finish watching the movie – Where the Red Fern Grows

  

Tuesday:  Read aloud to class – Counting by 7s - Discuss and summarize

                 discuss:  summarize what has happened – encouraging comprehension 

              Begin new book:  The Cay

                                                     

Wednesday: Read aloud to class –  Counting by 7s - Discuss and summarize
